Strawberry Picking | Windy Acres Farm

A few weeks back, at the height of strawberry season in New York, we headed out east to Windy Acres Farm, to pick our own strawberries. Strawberries + blueberries are Jayden's favorite fruit, so we thought it would be a fun adventure for the whole family. We had originally planned to go on Saturday but the weather did not corporate, but then Sunday rolled around + provided ideal berry picking weather. So we packed up + made the 1.5hr drive east on Long Island. We've driven by Windy Acres before, but never stopped. Windy Acres is one of those farms that has pumpkins in the fall, with a full harvest festival, but also has tons of other actives throughout the year, depending on what's in season. Windy Acres is a great place to take older kids, as they have a fully equipped wooden play years with tons of exploring opportunities.

With Jayden still being so little, we stuck with the basics... starting with the horses, then checking out the donkeys, chickens + tractors, before picking strawberries. Some may think, why would you take a baby to pick berries, but I have to tell you, Jayden throughly enjoyed himself. Even picking a few of his own strawberries + tasting many.
