Quick + Easy Holiday Hairstyle With Nexxus
The most exciting time of the year, is officially upon us! Thanksgiving is tomorrow + Christmas is exactly one month away–where has the time gone?! I can't believe I have a two month old, much less that the holiday season is here.
As I'm sure you've noticed, things have been a bit quite around here lately. I've still been keeping up with my Instagram account, but I haven't quite figured out how to fit blogging in full-time again, but I'm working on it. My little one wont sleep or nap anywhere but in my arms, making normal life impossible, but luckily we've been creating a new normal in our home, which has enabled me a few hours a day to get things done. We started using the Solly Baby Wrap recently + it's been a game changer!
Thankfully, we're finally starting to get the hang of our new family dynamic, just in time for the busy holiday season, filled with family get-togethers, holiday parties, + gifts galore. The holiday season is the perfect time to bust out your best looks from head to toe–but, as a new mom, I knew this year that I needed my look to be quick + easy. Can you relate?
The secret to a quick + easy holiday look, is great products. With the variety of styling products Nexxus has to offer at Target, your holiday will not only be fabulous, but super easy to create.
For this easy sideswiped holiday look, start by washing your hair with Nexxus Therappe Shampoo + Nexxus Humectress Conditioner, making sure to massage throughout then let both soak in for a least three minutes before rinsing. Follow up with an at home blow out, rather than letting it air dry. I found that with my hair type, naturally curly + thicker these days (haven't lost my "pregnancy hair" yet), this style works better on 1-2 day dirty hair.
Fast forward two days... Removing my hair from the top knot, that I normally wear while sleeping, I brushed my hair out. Wavy or curly hair looks best in this style, so if your hair is super straight, I would recommend curing the ends to add body.
Next I added a little dry shampoo to my roots, the rubbed 2-3 pumps of Nexxus Caviar Complex Serum through my hair to prevent any frizz + add shine, focusing on the ends.
Now, let's get started... I promise, it wont take you more than 2-3 minutes! It's so quick, even a new mom like myself can do it.
Start by creating a deep side part.
Then pull all of the excess hair around the back, so that all your hair is on one side.
Next up, you'll need 5-7 bobby pins. You could always use more + create a pattern, or less if your hair is really thick. For my hair, about 5 works perfectly. Start by taking a small piece of hair + braiding it, this works as an anchor for the body pins. Pull the braided piece of hair around the back + secure with bobby pins.
Next, secure the top of the deep part with a festive hairpin. You could even DIY if you can't find one you like.
Now in my opinion, no holiday look is complete without a red lip.
See, what did I tell you? A red lip makes even the simplest hairstyle pop.
Finish with an aerosol hairspray... my current favorite is Nexxus Maximum Hold Finishing Mist–it holds without making your hair stiff, which is a requirement in my book.
