I can't believe Thanksgiving is just days away... then Christmas, New Years Eve, MY BROTHER'S WEDDING–and just like that, it's 2017! The older we get, the faster time goes by.  Then once you become a parent, forget it, you can barley keep up.  Most of the time, I barely know what day of the week it is, much less have time plan ahead for the next holiday coming up.  I have done zero planning for Thanksgiving this year, but luckily we just made plans yesterday to spend Thanksgiving at a friends house.  Now all I have to worry about is, making a pumpkin pie (which I could do in my sleep) and getting the ingredients, for Joe to make his delicious coquet–done and done.

With the holiday season upon us, I'm currently making a list of the things I want to do this year, to take full advantage of living in NYC.  So many years past, we were traveling, working like dogs or caring for a newborn (hello, 2015) to fully enjoy all the city has to offer.  I usually cross a few things off my list each year, but never nearly as much as I would like.  This year, I'm hoping to plan ahead and get out and explore with my family.  This past weekend was the perfect pre-game for the holiday season.  We spent most of the weekend in the city, between church, brunch on the UWS, walks through Central Park and stumbling upon a vintage train exhibit at the New York Historical Society, which Jayden was obsessed with (I hope you we're able to catch it on Insta-Stories). This week we plan to hit up the Train exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (wish us luck).  I'm also working on putting together our entire wish list of things to do in NYC this season, that I hope to share here next week. In the mean time, I'm just going to look back at these photos (taken last Saturday, when it hit almost 70 degrees in the city) and hold onto Fall for just a little bit longer.

Last week, there was a DVF sample sale, two block from my apartment.  Sadly, I didn't get to do in the morning (which is when all the good stuff went), but I didn't get to stop by in the afternoon and picked up to great pieces for only $40–this striped shirt being one of them.  While, I can't find the shirt anywhere to link to, you could totally create this look, with a basic striped button down layered under a vest.  My bag, I recently picked up at Saks Off 5th at the Tanger Outlets, during a shopping trip with Olivia of Corporate Catwalk and Instill Magazine.  Believe it or not, I can't remember the last time I owned a black bag.  Don't get me wrong, I love how classic a black bag can look, but I always end up feeling like black bags are too stuffy for me, so I tend to lean towards tan/cognac, colors or prints, but this bag was different.  I love the charcoal gray effect and the gold hardware, both make this black bag anything but basic.  I also loved the green color way, which I linked to here.
